Toronto police share photo of suspect vehicle linked to U.S. consulate shooting

Toronto police are investigating reports that the United States consulate in the city’s downtown core was hit by gunfire early Tuesday morning. In a social media post, officers said they responded to calls around 5:30 a.m. that someone shot a gun at the U.S. consulate located at 360 University Ave., near Queen Street West. Detectives have released images of the suspect vehicle. They said a white Honda CR-V was travelling westbound on Dundas Street West, turned southbound onto University Avenue, and stopped in front of the U.S. consulate. Two men exited the vehicle and allegedly fired multiple rounds at the building. The suspects then re-entered the vehicle and drove southbound on University Avenue.
