Hey you beautiful people, I’m Adam and this is the DAOTP Weekly News Summary. In case you missed it, our brand new website launched a few days ago. DAOTP.news is a new hub for all the latest, breaking news from Disney and Other theme Parks around the world. It’s a great place to get the latest information inbetween videos here on youtube. So, It’s been a big week in the world of Theme Parks, with so many announcements regarding reopening and what measures are being put in place around the world. We begin with Disney World. They revealed this week that all 4 WDW parks will have phased reopenings starting July 11th. Also Disney revealed that to help control guests and queue lines, ALL FastPass+, Dining and Experience reservations have been cancelled until further notice. Disney have stated that Annual Pass holders will get an early preview bwefore July 11th, more details to be revealed soon. Moving on to the UK. Alton Towers this week outlined their plans for reopening, but gave no dates. Strong rumours suggest they are looking at July for the reopening of the Theme Park. One decision that was confirmed however, Alton Towers have made the call to postpone the opening of their new attraction Gangsta Granny: The Ride and the rest of The World of David Walliams until Spring of 2021. Storm Troopers have been spotted patrolling Disney Springs, ensuring guests stick to the COVID-19 rules. Great to see entertainment back around Disney! Universal have confirmed their plans for the reopening of the Volcano Bad Waterpark. Universal have said that once the park reopens next week guest should be aware of the following new rules: Try to wear face coverings/masks outside of the water where possible. No mixed parties will be placed on rides of attractions. Only a limited selection of Restaurants will be open. Park capacity will be capped at 1,500 initially. Only plastic silverware will be used inside the park. Seaworld, Aquatica and Discovery Cove Orlando have been given the all-clear to being their reopening also. All 3 parks will reopen on June 11th. With team members having access to an employee evening on June 10th. And the final story this week comes from Disneyland Paris. Very strong rumours suggest that the resort is looking to reopen both parks on July 11th. This follows Walt Disney World’s plans and comes day after the french government gave an early indication theme parks could begin to reopen around france in mid-June. The rumours also suggest that the Disneyland Paris cast members could begin to return to work as early as June 20th. As this is not currently confirmed by Disney it should be taken as rumour.
