CVT TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT :: 2019 SUBARU IMPREZA 2.0L 4 Cyl FB20

In this episode, I replace a CVT transmission on a Subaru. The customer accidentally drained the transmission thinking it was the engine oil pan and then overfilled the vehicle with oil. Then drove the vehicle with no transmission fluid about 15 miles. Upon receiving the car we did not have this information and added CVT fluid to see if it was possible to save it but it was too far gone. Funny story, just a few weeks ago we had a similar situation with a Toyota Tacoma, it came in with no transmission fluid, drove in by the customer. It had one single shift solenoid code and was driving almost perfect. We finally realized it had no fluid, filled it to the proper level and it drove off like nothing had ever happened. Something to be said there about the quality difference between manufacturers.
