Home Where Two Men Killed Known to Police for Drugs and Prostitution

FRANKLINTON (Dawn Faugl) -- AS Columbus police continue their search for suspects in a double homicide, people who live near the Franklinton home say it's an example of a neighborhood taken over by drugs and prostitution. Police say two men burst into 85 Stevens Avenue Monday night, shooting and killing Robert Bass and Cherod Houchins. The property is known to police, with 22 police runs to the home in the past year, dealing with drugs, guns, and prostitution. Neighbors point to the fact that much of the street is vacant, boarded up homes, saying crime is plaguing the area. Some homeowners say they've even boarded up their own homes, trying to keep out drugs and criminals.
