A Free Feeling | Beyond Labels | Outdoor Idaho

Beyond Labels | Outdoor Idaho Sari Lipp, from Twin Falls, ID, lives with cerebral palsy. But that hasn’t stopped her from being an avid outdoor enthusiast. She wanted to try paragliding, but it requires modified equipment and trained tandem pilots. Through a partnership between Teton Adaptive Sports, Jackson Hole Paragliding, and the Challenged Athletes Foundation, though, her wish was made a reality. Lipp was able to launch at 9,000 feet from the Jackson Hole Ski Resort in a specially designed paragliding chair with wheels that help during takeoff and landing. Her adventure, as well as those of other Idaho athletes with physical challenges, will be part of an Outdoor Idaho episode in 2022 on the growing field of adaptive sports. “It was an amazing opportunity that I will forever cherish,” said Lipp. “We sit back as a differently-abled population and wonder what certain things feel like. And being able to do that, we don’t have to wonder anymore.”
