Today we're discussing the Atrioc situation with the the deepfakes where atrioc was caught looking at deepfaked images of female streamers he was friends with, also known as "The Atrioc Incident". Now, after this kerfuffle, Atrioc has made an apology, and is trying to come back into the streaming world and atone, and so in this video we're going to discuss everything that's happened and whether he should return. LONG DESCRIPTION: There's a lot to cover in this video and since Atrioc isn't as mainstream as some of the other people who have gone through the cancellation and comeback cycle like Gus Johnson mini lad James Charles and so on, I think it behooves everyone here if I start basically from the very beginning of Atrioc's content creation career and then go all the way through his rise life on top incident and his downfall and finally his comeback I've made this really helpful timeline so that we can see where we are in each section, and I've also put chapters in the video description so you can feel free to jump around to whichever part you find most relevant to you. I. Early Life Now I hate writing informative bio so I actually asked an AI to write this first section for me so that I wouldn't have to worry about it however, it told me things like he was born on September 7th 1992 which is not true it says you grew up in California which is not true says he was it top ranked super Smash Bros player with a which is only kinda true says he attended the University of California Berkeley which is not true and he studied computer science which is not true, said his channel consists of super Smash Bros commentary which is not true and says he's one of the most popular twitch streamers which is just also not true. What he did was bad but what he started was much much worse and the second group of people were basically the opposite saying that what he did was horrible but the fact that it blew up and became popular wasn't necessarily his fault but rather the fault of all the people that were talking about it, reposting the clip and so on. However after all that went down Atrioc went quiet for a little bit of time and then made another horrible decision, he went live with no real plan and issued an emotional apology. Now the internet's no stranger to crying apologies but also rarely do they ever work because by and large people are not sympathetic towards tearful apologies when they're online and people were not sympathetic towards this tearful apology either With a lot of people pointing out the irony that atrioc the marketing guy absolutely failed and in the marketing of his apology, which was poorly thought out poorly executed and just generally seen there's a failure. For this apology atrioc once again went radio silent for several months until he came back with a much better stream and finally an actual actionable plan. IV. The Comeback Campaign In what I will assume become a landmark apology as far as the content creation world is concerned adria came back and gave actionable steps about what he was going to do immediately in the short term and in the long term Now it's probably hard for me to be objective on this because of the biases that I have but this does feel to me like one of the best apologies that I've ever seen. That's where we are today, Atrioc says he's still working behind the scenes to get Ceartas into the hands of more female streamers and will continue to do so. Now I realize this video seems like I'm just giving atrioc the glug glug 9000, but it's hard to find a flaw with how he's taking on this issue, and his handling of it it all has been perfect Show the crying apology OK his handling of it all has been near perfect, but the way the entire situation has shaped up thanks to his actions needs to be the blueprint for future content creators when they inevitably messed things up and are held accountable. So ultimately I'm proud of atrioc and the way he's chosen to come back and take responsibility, and I'm looking forward to the good work he's able to do for people that have been victimized in this way.
