The music John Williams wrote for Harry Potter is spectacular. But in the 3rd film, it has flaws. Despite Williams scoring 1-3, the musical continuity disappears in the 3rd film, and we lose many great themes. I have tried to bring some of them back. This is a deleted scene which didn't have music until the "Sirius Black" theme comes on. First off, I added a very quiet hint of Hedwig's theme as McGonagall asks Sir Cadogan about intruders. Easy to miss and is intended to be subtle. My second piece here is (in my opinion) one of the more important rescores I've done. Neville is not given a main theme until Deathly Hallows (a big mistake), but the DH theme is quite good. I bring it in here (just briefly) to plant the seed for what should be many more moments that use the Neville motif, and we see it transform from "blundering Neville" to the "heroic Neville" in DH.
