A Place for Index Cards & Getting Things Done

I use index cards at work all the time for making lists: Things to do. Places to be. Appointments. They're better than a calendar (for me and the way I work). Usually I prop them up against my monitor... but that's not always practical, so I made a box to hold blank cards, and hold the current one up so it's easy to look at. This isn't a new idea, and while there's plenty of off-the-shelf things like this... why not spend a rainy bank holiday afternoon making something? I like Ugmonk's Analog, and Fogiletto cards - but that's a whole system of itself, and while they're very nice to look at, at some point those companies may stop producing the cards and I'd be left with a system that's no longer supported. The standardisation of the index card appeals to my utilitarian nature. They're simple, they work for me and I can get them pretty much anywhere. Thanks to Mrs. Things' ribbon box for the bit of ribbon to pull new cards out. I knew it would come in handy one day. I always believed in the ribbon box.
