Dr Keri Wong UCL Institute of Education Abstract: The impact of COVID-19 on mental health continues to be felt around the world even as vaccine rollouts begin to show early signs of success. In this talk, I will present three waves of data from the UCL-Penn Global COVID Study collected between April to July 2020 (wave 1), October 2020 to January 2021 (wave 2) and the current wave, April to July 2021 (wave 3). I will give an overview of the study and share several key findings to date that speak to the impacts of multiple lockdowns on people’s physical and mental health, specifically teacher’s wellbeing. I will highlight a few key issues that I think are particularly salient now in rebuilding back a stronger education system and society. Moving beyond the UK perspective, I would like to invite audience members to reimagine the longer-term impacts of COVID-19 on mental health, education, and policy as a global citizen, as we discuss findings from various countries.
