The Best Way To Clean Shoes In The Washing Machine
Are you looking for the best way to clean shoes? Mesh sneakers are hands down one of the toughest materials to clean; especially when they’ve been worn during the craziest abandoned adventures. In today’s episode of SCA Nick walks you through the best method to clean mesh shoes and how to get the best results. RESHOEVN8R’s Patented Laundry System is what sets us apart from the competition. For this cleaning we relied on the Signature Cleaning Kit. The Signature Kit features a 4 Ounce Bottle of Solution, 3 different brushes, our Microfiber Towel, Shoe Trees and our Laundry Bag. This kit truly has everything you need for a deep clean or a quick clean. These sneakers are primarily mesh, but feature some leather as well, making them the perfect candidate for this kit. We started the cleaning process like we normally would by removing the laces and inserting the adjustable Shoe Tree to allow us to put as much pressure on the toe box to truly clean the shoe. Then we added 2 squirts of Solution to our bowl of water and we were ready to move to the scrubbing process. We used the Soft Bristle Brush on the uppers to break down the dirt and other debris. The Soft Brush is beneficial because it is soft enough that it won't fray the materials, but it will still provide a deep clean. After the Soft brush was completed we moved over to the Medium Brush to clean the midsoles and other deeper stains. The Medium Brush can be used on a variety of surfaces, but the main focus is the midsoles. Finally we took care of the outsoles using the Stiff Bristle Brush. The Stiff Brush really gets into the crevices of the outsole to clean and remove any debris, bacteria and dirt that may be trapped. After the pretreatment was completed we placed these in the washing machine on a normal cycle with cold water. We get a lot of comments that you shouldn’t put shoes in the wash, but these are 100% okay to wash. After they went through the wash they needed to go through 1 more time to really get a good clean. 2 trips through the wash did the trick though, so we let these air dry and we were good to lace them up. Pro tip: NEVER use the dryer for your shoes.
