Gary Goodings RX-7 last drag run?

Gary Gooding sets a solid 10.13 second time in his RX-7 at Santa Pod's Fast Show 21 03 10. Unfortunately, this looks like being the last run for some time, certainly for this car. At the end of the run in the shut-down area Gary lost control of the car and managed to almost save it, but sadly hit the wall side-on resulting in extensive damage to the car. Fortunately Gary was fine. Several highly experienced drag racers came to grief in the same place on the track that day, including John Bradshaw in his GTST and Chris Impey's RX-7. This provokes speculation on the quality of track prep and leads one to question the wisdom of allowing RWYB cars covered in mud from the public "car parks" to run up the track on a day when full Pro class HKS Series cars are running, especially following days of heavy rain. Terrible sad end to a beautiful car, whatever the cause.... you can just see it veer out of control at the very end of the clip, but let's remember it at its best, sun gleaming on the flip paint and livery wreathed in burnout smoke, yeah?
