Teel Auctions Sale of June 9, 2015: Oak Furniture, Antiques, Collectibles

This has been a good season for furniture, including our coming sale on Tuesday, June 9th. Several featured pieces demonstrate why older oak furniture is making a comeback. Oak is the classic American hardwood. It’s durable and resists dents and damage. It has a beautiful grain and carves well. Here’s a heavily carved oak high back bedroom set. Here’s an unusual oak roll-top desk. It has legs and a pullout. Here’s the classic 44 inch square oak dining table, two round oak clawfoot tables, carved oak beds and more. We have more than 150 pieces of furniture, including a Victorian library table, a Mission library table, wing chairs, trestle table mahogany dining room set, bedroom sets, writing desks, chests of drawers, china closets, trunks, bookcases, stands, a pine bar with backbar and stools, plus more. Other highlights include a wine press, Jack Nicholson autograph, canopy tent, bikes, records, grass catcher, World War II medals, tools, prints & frames, old radios, jewelry, clocks, glassware and more. Looking ahead, it’s a busy month for real estate auctions. On Saturday, June 20th we’re auctioning a magnificent granite mansion in the College Hill section of Easton. On June 27th, we’re auctioning a home in Lower Mount Bethel that’s surrounded by farmland. On Sunday, June 28th we’re auctioning a well maintained home in a beautiful neighborhood in Pocono Township.
