This is my fifth debate on Standing for Truth. I take on Gavin James who represents the Church of Christ erroneous view that teaches water baptism is a part of salvation. This is clearly NOT what the Bible teaches. The Bible teaches that faith alone is all that is required for salvation. The Bible has 200 verses that salvation is by faith alone with no mention of water baptism. My view is proven in this debate, while the works based salvation of Gavin James is easily disproven and demolished. Baptism is an important is an important step of obedience for discipleship, not salvation. Salvation in the Bible is always before water baptism. The passages that Gavin uses to prove water baptism is a part of salvation are clearly taken out of context, misused, and misunderstood. Watch this video and weigh the arguments presented by both and see the real truth of salvation.
