12/28/2025 morning worship service Pastor Anthony Fields " "The Days After Christmas - A New Year" Colossians 1 READ Colossians 1:13-18 I. Creation: It all starts with God II. Your life: It all starts with God 1. Every living thing starts with God 2. All things "cohere", consist, or hold together with God What does your life start with? What are four elements of a life lived in God's purpose? A. Peace (Col 1:2) What does your life start with? What are four elements of a life lived in God's purpose? B. Deliverance (Col. 1:13) C. Forgiveness D. Reconciliation (Col. 1:20-21 III. The Church: It all starts with God Consider three things: 1. It is the Lord's church 2. God is calling people to serve Him through His church 3.Christ is to be supreme, "preeminent" (Col. 1:18) Are you weary and worn out from Christmas? Are you worried about the New Year to come? Are you wary of people you are not sure you can trust? Are you overworked? Do you have a woeful attitude of despair? You have a new year ahead. Let Christ give you a fresh start." ________________________ "Overwhelm us, Lord: with the weight of your glory. Psalm 128 Happy are they all who fear the Lord : and who follow in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of your labor : happiness and prosperity shall be yours. Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house : your children like olive shoots round about your table. The man who fears the Lord :shall thus indeed be blessed. The Lord bless you from Zion :and may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem all the days of your life. May you live to see your children's children :may peace be upon lsrael. Overwhelm us, Lord : with the weight of your glory." _____________________ "Lord. With your coming, our lives have a greater demand placed upon them. Help us learn the art of active, consistent service while maintaining enough silent spaces to hear your call. Amen." _______________________ " "THINK ON THIS. Your Life God's Plan" Verses like Jeremiah 29:11 ("plans to prosper you and not to harm you") and Ephesians 2:10 (created for good works) tell us God has a plan for your life. It is up to you to actively choose to follow God's path which involves doing justice, loving kindness, and walking humbly (Micah 6:8). Understand that hardships are often part of the process, working for good and building character, as God is always at work in your story. God provides guidance (Psalm 32:8) and he uses all things, even suffering, to work for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). The plan involves living with purpose, making the most of time, and walking wisely, reflecting Christ in all you do." And, it's about stewardship of your days to live wisely, acknowledging the world's challenges ("the days are evil"), and aligning your Ïife with divine purpose. (Ephesians 5:16)" _____________________ " "The greatest of all the commandments is love" Mark 12:28-34 By Jesus' time, the Jews had created hundreds of rules for following God. There were so many rules, some leaders started sorting them into major and minor laws. ▪︎ What does it mean to love God with all your heart, mind and soul? ▪︎ What's one way you can love a co-worker, classmate, or neighbor this week? ▪︎ Think about your life before Jesus. What are some of the ways you were hard to love? How does that change your perspective on the hard-to-love people in your life today?"
