Sink the Bismarck (Johnny Horton Cover)

Vocals by Mike Potts, music/instruments Tommy Moreno Sink the Bismarck (by Johnny Horton and songwriter Tillman Franks, 1960) is about the pursuit and sinking of the German battleship "Bismarck" in May 1941, during WWII. Bismarck and her sister ship Tirpitz were the largest battleships ever built by Germany. The pride of the Royal Navy, the HMS Hood, was destroyed by the Bismarck during the Battle of the Denmark Strait, and the battleship HMS Prince of Wales was forced to retreat. The Bismarck was then relentlessly pursued by dozens of Royal Navy warships, and was sunk on the morning of May 27, 1941.
