Freelance Writer Yolanda Machado and CBC News Film Critic Eli Glasner have a candid conversation about the push for more diversity among film reviewers and why it's so important. We also hear from Bronx freelance writer Valerie Complex. Both Machado and Complex were invited to the 2018 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) as part of its new Media Inclusion Initiative. A recent study found that 64 per cent of reviews of the top 100 films on Rotten Tomatoes were written by white males. Just four per cent were written by women of colour.
