Dubai, normally packed with tourists and business travellers, appeared noticeably quieter on Friday. Popular sites including the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, and Dubai Fountain site, featuring a 150-metre choreographed fountain performance, experienced significant drops in foot fall. Fears over a possible escalation in the ongoing war have also led to continued losses in UAE stock markets, which slipped in early Friday trade. Despite the heightened tensions, some residents and tourists were still seen enjoying the weather along the beach near the Burj Al Arab, which was targeted during the early days of the conflict.
