With Christmas just days away, on Monday evening just after sunset, what was dubbed a 'Christmas Star', Jupiter and Saturn aligned in the night sky, was at times visible to the naked eye. The timing couldn't be better as the two gas giants will resemble the celestial light that guided the Three Wise Men to Jesus in the Bible's Nativity Story. The conjunction is rare and the planets have not been observed this close together since medieval times in 1226 and won't be seen again until 2080.
