AVONDALE, Ohio (WKRC) - Police are investigating a shooting that left two people hurt in Avondale on Wednesday. Detectives say neither the victims nor the shooters stuck around. Police say two people were shot in the area of Rockdale Avenue and Washington at about 12:30 p.m. Someone dropped them off at the hospital and then took off. One was shot in the leg and buttocks. That person is expected to survive. No word on the injuries to the second victim. Detectives are waiting at the hospital to talk to the victims. Police say they don't have any witnesses. Shotspotter picked up 16 shots in one location and detected eight around the corner. “All of the sudden I just started hearing this rapid firing. It probably wasn't as long but it seemed like it went on for at least 10 or 15 seconds. Just rapid-fire. So, I waited a couple seconds and then I came up to see what was going on. I expected to find dead bodies on the street but it was absolutely clear when I came out,” Rev. Everett Greene with Immanuel Lutheran Church said. One of the victim's cars was found with shell casings and blood, according to police.
