Older Worker Safety - Aging & Work - Healthy Aging The workforce is aging rapidly. More people over age 55 are entering or staying in the workplace, and that is a good thing. Their experience, skills and lifetime of learning can be invaluable assets to any company. Although older workers have one of the lowest rates of injury and accidents, their injuries are usually more severe than their younger counterparts. Falls, strains and sprains are common among the elderly, as any caregiver can tell you. But these injuries can be controlled in the workplace with proper precautions.
