It's just so jolly and happy, with a bit of a sentimental undercurrent saying "The ride's over, friend." It channels nostalgia really well, and I think Mr. Kondo had to know adults would look back fondly on their time playing Super Mario World as kids. That quality is one reason why this song continues to resonate. The way Mr. Kondo's songs capture emotions so strongly while also being so stylistically varied and SO catchy is incredible.
