One officer dead, six others wounded in South Carolina shooting

One South Carolina police officer has been shot dead and six others injured near Florence. The incident begun to unfold around 4.55pm Wednesday. Then at 5.30pm authorities confirmed that a total of three deputies and two City Florence officers had been shot. A 20-year-old man was also injured. By 6pm the shooter had been detained following talks with a negotiator. One of the city police officers has died. The extent of the injuries of the other four was not immediately known.
