DIY Shibori Fabric

DIY Shibori Fabric

Hi, thanks for watching. Zipper Pouch Tutorial    • Zipper Pouch Tutorial   Supplies: Container 1 Bottle of Denim Rit Dye 1 Bottle of Navy Rit Dye 100% White Cotton Fabric (I cut 2 yards into 4 pieces) Spoon (or something to stir it with) 1 Cup of Salt (I used Epson Salt) Gloves Iron Dishwashing Soap Rubber Bands Clothespins I folded the longer side of the fabric back & forth creating an accordion fold. I ironed each fold. I folded a corner into a triangle. Then, I folded it back & forth like an accordion fold. I tied the fabric using rubber bands. I did this to 2 fabric pieces. For the third piece, I made an accordion fold. Then, I folded the fabric in half and add clothespins. For the last piece, I made an accordion fold. Then, I folded the fabric in half and added rubber bands. Fill the container with warm water. I soaked the pieces of fabric for a few minutes and set them aside. I added 2 drops of dishwashing soap, 1 cup of salt, 1/2 a bottle of Navy dye, & a bottle of Denim dye to the warm water. Stir it and add the fabric pieces. Soak them for an hour. Rinse then with warm water, then with cold water. Untie them and rinse until the water becomes clear. Afterward, I washed them with laundry detergent. The colors will get lighter when the pieces are dry (and mine had a hint of purple). __________ instagram: @itscreatewithjenn   / itscreatewithjenn
