Russia's Wagner Group has claimed that the eastern town of Soledar is now under Russia's control. The development came last night as the mercenary group posted on Telegram that an announcement about the number of Ukrainian 'prisoners' would follow soon. However, Reuters said that it could not corroborate the claims made by the head of Russian President Vladimir Putin's 'secret Army.' Ukraine on the other hand, maintained that its troops were holding ground in the town, famously known for its salt mines. A bloody battle is underway as the frontline of the war moved east amid Russia's offensive to retake lost territory.
