Ichiban is the new face of the franchise and starts off as a lower ranking Yakuza member of the Arakawa Family whose Patriarch is Ichiban's father figure. Ichiban is asked by Arakawa to go to prison in place of Sawashiro and is sent to prison for 18 years always hoping that once he was released, he'd be welcomed back into the family. Instead he is welcomed by no one and betrayed by Arakawa, leading Ichiban to Yokohama and wrapped up in the Ijin Three (Yakuza, Korean Mafia & Chinese Triads) but still wanting to find out the truth on Arakawa. Sega gettin' spicy by soft rebooting the franchise with a new character and style of gameplay, since Kiryu is retired.
