Fallout 4 randomly dying while running around

It's happened maybe five times that I've taken heavy damage while sprinting, seemingly for no reason. There haven't been any enemies around to my knowledge, or any sound of gunfire. This is the first time it's killed me. When I think of it, it's always been on roads. Maybe it's the cars? I see cars glitch-falling off bridges all the time. Maybe this car was just about to get a life of its own and its pixels killed me. Or maybe it was the game's way of saying "hey, don't you be running around with 30 % extra movement speed when we can barely load the environment at normal speed". Edit: Now that I've seen another video of a person taking damage/dying in a similar way, I see that there's one thing happening in all three videos: We are running alongside a car and we are getting just a tiny bit elevated when brushing the side of the car.
