So many golfers are infatuated with the back swing that they forget about what is important about the back swing. And thinking about the back swing too much can cause you to be too tight and make a bad back swing. Within this video, John Hughes, PGA Master Professional of Instruction and Golf Tips Magazine Top 25 Coach shows you 3 very easy drills to hone a great back swing. The video was shot at the picturesque #7 hole of the Streamsong Resort Blue Course. By counting to 2, or 3, you can create simple yet repeatable motions that produce a great back swing. The "1-2 Drill" addresses a single piece take away. Simplifying the initial take away is critical to avoid unnecessary movements as you begin your swing. The "Up, Hinge, and Turn" Drill provides a slight variation to the 1-2 Drill and allows you to emphasize the hinge of your back swing. And the "1-2-3" Drill brings the back swing all together, allowing you to "post up" to the trail side of your swing. Doing so will allow you the opportunity to produce a smooth transition to the down swing. Thank you to Scott Wilson, Matt Jordan, and the entire staff of Streamsong Resort for allowing John Hughes Golf the opportunity to use the Blue Course, designed by Tom Doak, as the back drop to this video.
