A short rant about very old electrolytic capacitors

See, they don't fail as often as some would like you to believe. If your service man says "all the caps have to be replaced" then he is likely padding the bill. The only time they all need to be changed is with vintage tube equipment that uses wax / paper caps. They all have to go in that case. Modern electrolytics, nope. Most will be fine, 1 or 2 will fail in an average circuit.
