Thoughts on the Return of Toonami! - April Fools 2012

Sorry, for the long piece of audio, but I'm still excited over last night and hopeful for the future! Looks like all our hopes in a minor way paid off! Cartoon Network and Adult Swim surprised us all twice last night! As tradition, Adult Swim always does something silly or strange. In 2009 and 2010, they aired The Room, an independent movie that supposedly is really terrible. To those who tuned in last night expecting anime were greeted with the opening moments of The Room instead, seeming that AS was going to show The Room again for this year as their prank, until the screen faded to black and revealed....TOM and the Absolution from Toonami! I missed the opening, DBZ and Gundam Wing, but got to see everything else, and it was awesome! Steve Blum returned to voice TOM again, TOM reviewed a game like old times, and even cussed a little bit! (99 Problems for Tenchi!) I was also very glad they used that particular version of TOM for last night. Though I still enjoyed Toonami's final days in 2008, I never really liked that look for TOM. Glad they made that choice! The shows were all classics from Toonami's past except for Bleach. We were treated with: DBZ Gundam Wing Tenchi Muyo Outlaw Star Big O Yu Yu Hakusho Blue Submarine No. 6 Trigun Astro Boy and Gigantor It was one of the best nights I can remember and the only words I know to describe the way I felt are "pure joy." BUT, why would they air Toonami in all its original glory for just one night instead of going with some pratical joke like before...unless CN and AS are testing the fanbase's loyalty to Toonami! This means we might be very close to seeing TOM and the Absolution back on TV again! Steve Blum has asked fans to send CN messages from their feedback page (which strangely has a "Toonami" topic, despite Toonami not being a real part of CN anymore). Go thank CN for putting Toonami back on last night and ask them KINDLY to bring it back. Don't flood them with hate mail, cuz that will just hurt us and Toonami in the long run. If we fight hard enough and do it the right way, maybe they'll wise up and give us Toonami back! TOM always said "I love this job!", so let's put him back to work!
