THURSDAY OF THE THIRTY-FOURTH WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME Feast of Saint Andrew, Apostle (Mt 4:18-22) As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men." At once they left their nets and followed him. He walked along from there and saw two other brothers, James, the son of Zebedee, and his brother John. They were in a boat, with their father Zebedee, mending their nets. He called them, and immediately they left their boat and their father and followed him. The Gospel of the Lord:” Praise to You, Lord Jesus The Word of God for Everyone Dear People of God, Today the Church celebrates the feast of Saint Andrew the Apostle. Today's Word of God reports on Jesus calling His disciples to follow Him. When God's Word touches the hearts and souls of those He chooses, with just one call from Him, they will be willing to give up everything and follow. Through God's Word today, God shows His strength and power when bestowed upon humanity. Therefore, when anyone has been chosen by God, they will not escape His embrace. Whoever God chooses and calls to follow Him, that is the happiness and love that God gives, and places within that person a certain mission or responsibility in His work. The image of the four apostles being chosen by God, and the fact that they dared to give up everything in this world to follow the Most Holy Master Jesus, shows the strength and power of God. They were touched by God, given faith by God to be willing to give up fishing, give up all human life on earth, and follow Jesus to fish for people rather than fish. It is the work of collaborating with God to save souls, a very important, very strong, meaningful, and powerful work when following Jesus Christ. Today, God wants to invite humanity to put the most important and priority work first, which is collaborating with God to save souls. This is the most valuable possession that God invites all those who dare to follow the Most Holy Master Jesus to have; this is also the important and main work of the Son of God coming to earth as a human to help free human souls from the imprisonment of Satan. Therefore, when following Jesus Christ, the disciples must also follow the example of the Most Holy Master Jesus, which is to carry the cross to Calvary and suffer and die with Him. God the Father wants to invite everyone: To be aware of your identity when you are chosen and called by God to participate in His work. Do well the tasks that God the Father has given to each person, which is to become faithful, loyal, and wise managers of God. Be alert in every word and deed as you walk in God's work of salvation and always prioritize God's work above all else, which is saving souls from the captivity of Satan. Thanks be to God. Amen
