Being locked down has pose much agony to a lot of people however it has also offered its fair share of opportunities. In a busy age that is saturated by distractions and false altars, now couldn't be a better time to look in and take action to realign life with His. In the context of 2 Kings 22:2, King Josiah came from a lineage of leaders who performed extreme evil. His grandfather Manasseh brought the judgment of God upon Israel that could not be undone, and led the people astray from the Lord. His son was assassinated, and Josiah inherited the throne at the tender age of 8 years old. However Josiah was different. From the age of 20, Josiah began to purge Israel from idolatry, and rebuilt the temple of God, and found the Book of the Law. He was so convicted by the reading of God’s Word, that he began to put things aright in the country. In this same spirit, have we began to seek the Lord as Josiah this season? Have we been going through the motions of religious Christianity and lost our hunger for the Lord? Are there idols in our lives that need to be removed – the love of money, women, possession, position, selfish ambition, Netflix, sleep, etc – that steals our time with the Lord? It is time to renew our covenant to our Lord.- to spend time with our Lord and put Him back in the throne of our lives. God is calling us back into this covenantal relationship with Him and rest assured He is by your side to guide and enable you. Let's prepare our hearts to listen to the word of God.
