This delicious appetizer and one of the most loved Trini street foods is also a popular Divali dish. Since Divali is around the corner, i thought I would share this recipe with you all! There are 2 ways to make this. This way uses the chopped up spinach and the other way is made by rolling the spinach and slicing them into circles. Saheena is a spinach (dasheen bush/taro leaves) fritter made with a split pea and flour batter and eaten with your choice of chutney. I prefer mango chutney but you can have it with tamarind chutney as well. Try this recipe and you'll be making it many many times again in the future! The recipe is my personal recipe that was developed after lots of trial and error and lots of wasted ingredients ð Ingredients: 8 Dasheen bush/spinach/taro leaves 2 cups flour 1 cup split peas powder 1 lime 2 tsp yeast 1/2 tbsp sugar 1 tsp roasted ground cumin / Geera 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 cup green seasoning 1 1/2 tsp salt 3/4 tbsp baking powder 1 cup of water Oil to fry Tamarind Chutney :    âĒ Sweet and Savory Tamarind (Tambran) Chutne...  Updated Green Seasoning:    âĒ Caribbean Green Seasoning  Caribbean Green Seasoning:   âĒ Caribbean Green Seasoning- Basic Recipe  Like, Subscribe and Leave me comments- I want to hear from you!
