Ever-worsening Hurricane Irma is upgraded AGAIN to Category 3 a day ahead of schedule as forecasters warn it will be 'extremely dangerous' - and may hit the Carolinas in TEN DAYS • Irma was upgraded to Cat. 2 storm Thursday then Cat. 3 just hours later • It had been expected to reach Cat. 3 - with wind speeds of 111mph - on Friday • Forecasters say it will only get worse, and is expected to reach Cat. 4 Tuesday • The hurricane is moving west at 12mph and will take a week to travel the Atlantic • It could go northwest, hitting North and South Carolina on Sunday September 10 • Or it could keep moving west and hit Puerto Rico; at present its path is unclear • The maximum category for a hurricane is 5, which means winds of over 157mph • In Texas, crews are looking for survivors of Harvey; at least 38 are dead Please leave your comments or feel free to discuss in the comments section.
