Tim & Kev's Big Design Adventure - a new podcast

Big Design Adventure is available wherever you listen to your favourite podcasts including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, TuneIn and iHeart. Two mates, Tim Ross — comedian, broadcaster, and self-described design nerd — and Kevin McCloud — pundit, writer and celebrated host of Grand Designs — have teamed up for a new podcast: Tim & Kev’s Big Design Adventure.   In this audio escapade, the architectural enthusiasts embark on a rollicking (and occasionally shambolic) journey, sharing their love of design by visiting buildings that inspire them, meeting the people who create or inhabit them, and diving deep into the places that shape and spark their imaginations.   “Galivanting around the place looking at great buildings and hanging out with Kevin is an absolute blast. I can’t wait for people to hear what we get up to.” says Tim.   In Series One, they set their sights on London’s futuristic housing estates of the 1960s, visit an iconic petrol station in Denmark, get their Art Deco fix in the New Zealand town of Napier, unpack the genius of Thunderbirds creator Gerry Anderson, explore some of Sydney’s modernist gems, and document a revealing eight hours in the football-famous Welsh town of Wrexham.   Tim and Kevin have been friends for over a decade. After presenting a series of sold-out shows at the Sydney Opera House in 2019, they vowed to work together again — and now, they’ve finally made it happen. “Us putting together this series has been one of the most satisfying and fun things I’ve ever done. Every day’s a school day, but one where you’re on some kind of legal high, it’s called design..” said Kevin.   Tim & Kev’s Big Design Adventure launches on Wednesday, August 13, with new episodes dropping weekly.   Big Design Adventure is produced in Australia by Tim Ross and Kevin McCloud through Modernister Films. The podcast is proudly supported by Space Furniture and the Australian Institute of Architects, as well as presented with support from the Alastair Swayn Foundation.
