Sergei Rachmaninoff was considered to be the last of the great Russian Romantic composers, turning out works well into the twentieth century. He had a difficult life and suffered deeply from depression. Many people believe his inner turmoil is reflected in his powerful and emotional music. He recorded this AMPICO piano roll in 1920.
