At the beginning of the game, Isaac is questioned about the events that transpired three years ago aboard the USG Ishimura space station. Suddenly, Isaac sees visions of his dead girlfriend, Nicole, and the monstrosities he encountered aboard the Ishimura in Dead Space, causing him to black out. He wakes up an unknown amount of time later and is informed by Franco, the protagonist of Dead Space: Ignition, that he is in "grave danger." Franco had been killed by an Infector and turned into a Slasher. After making his way through the hospital section of the Sprawl and witnessing the horrors of the necromorph attack, Isaac is contacted by Daina, who tells him that they need to meet because the dementia he developed on Aegis VII will kill him. ____________________________________________ Di awal permainan, Isaac ditanyai tentang peristiwa yang terjadi tiga tahun lalu di stasiun antariksa USG Ishimura.
