As protests continue over the passage of the contentious Citizenship Amendment bill in parliament, a number of state governments have refused to implement the law on the grounds that it is an attempt by the ruling BJP to strip the country of its secular credentials. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh had tweeted his refusal to implement the law in his state on Thursday. His sentiments were echoed by at least three other state CM's including Mamata Banerjee and Pinarayi Vijayan.
