Europeans take to the streets for May Day

Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets around the world to mark International Labour Day. In France, people protested government plans to cut $70bn in public spending. In the UK, 1.4m people are now working under contracts that do not guarantee a minimum number of hours. These contracts are increasingly common in restaurants, hotels and shops. The government is under pressure to address this growing trend. But in Greece, people have had to accept job and pay cuts. Al Jazeera's Jacky Rowland reports from Paris.
