President Barack Obama demands more funding to fight Zika

The US leader has asked Congress to approve nearly $2bn to tackle the Zika virus, which is suspected of causing abnormally shrunken heads of babies and brain damage. The House of Representatives has so far agreed to provide $622m. The US Centers for Disease Control says 157 pregnant women have tested positive in the US for the virus, and it expects a rise in cases as summer approaches and the mosquito season flourishes.
