When I first heard that @teenageengineering were planning to release a device that lets you cut your own vinyl records at home I was like "whaaaaat?! This sounds too good to be true!"...dude, this was my dream since I started making music. Seriously! I spent countless Saturdays in this one little record store in Wuppertal listening to records…and when my mind drifted off, there always was this one thought in the back of my mind: "It would be so cool if you could cut your own vinyls…without having to spend a fortune…at home!" Thanks to Teenage Engineering, this dream has come true! How cool is that? Dude, the day it came out, I was stuck at work and since I wasn't really able to go online and stuff, I was like "ok, I'll buy it as soon as I'm at home!". Well, as most of you know, the PO-80 record factory sold out within a couple of hours…when I came home and learned that it was sold out, I was absolutely gutted…I would constantly refresh the page…just to stare at this darn blue NOTIFY button. I gave up after a couple of minutes and was like "well, I guess we'll have to wait, then!"...I hate waiting…but who doesn't, right? Later that night, I thought to myself "maybe…just maybe…we should try it one more time…it's probably still gonna be sold out but you never know!!!"...so I started the old laptop, went straight to TE's store and instead of a blue NOTIFY button, I was greeted by a yellow "BUY" button! Yeeeeeeah! I couldn't believe it…I was over the moon and bought that damn thing! And dude, it was totally worth it…I've had the most fun with the PO-80 I ever had with a new piece of gear. Seriously! Ok, let's be honest…if you’re an audiophile person who thinks that "lofi" is just a euphemism for "bad sound quality", you may conclude that the PO-80 record factory sounds pretty underwhelming. But you know what? Who cares? Because the moment you put the cutter on the vinyl to cut your own track is nothing but pure magic. Heck yeah!!! As far as this PO-33 kit/sample pack is concerned…I didn't want to make a regular unboxing video and so I came up with the idea of creating a PO-33 kit from a bunch of sounds I recorded while unboxing the PO-80 record factory. And yup, all sounds in this kit (as usual) have been made from scratch using the audio from the "how I made the sounds section". As usual, head over to my gumroad and grab this PO-33 kit AND the sample pack for free (any small tip would be highly appreciated, though😉). Here's the link: https://cntrlldrndmnss.gumroad.com/l/... If you’re like “Ok, dude…I downloaded your silly old backup file but what now?”, let me walk you through the process of transferring data to your PO-33 / PO-133 - don’t worry, it’s actually super simple: Download the backup file...easy, right? Connect your PO-33 / PO-133 to whatever device you downloaded the backup file to with a 3.5mm stereo cable (use the “in” jack on the left-hand side of the PO-33 / PO-133) On your PO-33 / PO-133, press WRITE + SOUND + RECORD at the same time (“rcu” should pop up on your screen) Hit play on the transferring device Wait, grab a coffee (or whatever) and let the PO-33 / PO-133 do its thing (it’ll tell you when it’s done) Oh yeah, I almost forgot. After I figured out how to make a good-sounding cut, I thought it would be kinda cool if I made a drum one-shots vinyl consisting of this kit and a bunch of kits I've been working on over the past few weeks…well, and that's what I did…I cut this drum one-shot vinyl with 70 drum one-shots on the A side and an exclusive lofi beat on the B side. And yeah, I'm giving this away so can you guess what time it is? It's giveaway-raffle time!!! I thought I'd just put all the names of people who leave a comment on this video within the first week in a hat (it won't be an actual hat, though…it'll probably be a cap or a beanie or something) and then I'll randomly draw a winner. So, let's do this!!!
