Ghost Recon: Future Soldier - Mission 9 - Valiant Hammer

Kozak is given the opportunity to interrogate one of the Raven Rock special forces that was captured during the resistances push to regain control in Russia. The prisoner is tough and knows who Kozak is and where he is from and tries to goad him. The prisoner has a tattoo that suggest he is a member of the "Wolves" and therefore Kozak tells CIA to look into any references to "Bodark". Mitchell briefs the team and informs them that the resistance is fragmented, a general named Alexei Douka is a man who could bring it together. July 13th, 2024 The Ghosts are inserted into the Selo Dasuz, Karachay-Cherkessia region, the woodland terrain provides excellent cover. The team move in and use the drone to conduct recon on the surrounding area. There are multiple patrols in the area and therefore the team must be careful when eliminating targets. Once the area is clear of hostiles, the Ghosts move on to their next objective which is to secure an enemy held position in an old shack. With the position secure the team reach the observation point and get eyes on an enemy HQ. Hunter informs Overlord that the team are going in to gain intel on enemy positions and especially the artillery positions. Mitchell warns that if this goes south then they cannot get the team out. Things go well initially for the Ghosts, they clear most of the base but are compromised and have to engage several hostiles in open combat. The Ghosts eliminate the threat but their presence could have been reported. The team search the main target building for intel and determine that Douka is being pinned down by artillery positions nearby to the Ghosts. Hunter believes there are more enemy in another building so they prepare for an assault. Raven Rock have a BTR operational which they use to cover their counter-attack. Kozak uses the MG emplacement while the rest lay down suppressing fire. With the area clear the team enter the building and Kozak hears on the radio that reinforcements are heading to finish off General Douka. The Ghosts break protocol and request to be connected to the General so that Kozak can inform him of the situation and also let the General know he has allies that will assist. The team leave the building to see tanks and troop transports moving along the road. An enemy artillery position is nearby but is surrounded by many hostiles, the team start to pick off their targets but are spotted and have to go loud again. With a charge set and the artillery blown, the team have one more site to hit. On route the team are attack but Kozak jumps on the mini gun and mows down any resistance and destroys all the vehicles. Kozak informs the General that all artillery units have been destroyed and they are extracting, he warns of enemy patrols in the teams area. Shortly after the team come under fire from a few sniper teams, they move from cover to cover and eliminate them with counter-sniping. The Ghosts move towards the extraction zone when Raven Rock forces are spotted trying to set up more artillery positions. The Ghosts waste no time in assaulting the enemy position before they can dig in and fire the guns. They then use the river to continue their extraction and have to take cover under a bridge and listen to a Raven Rock convoy roll over them. It becomes clear that these troop transports are moving behind the Generals position and will cut him off. If this were to happen then all their efforts will have been in vain. The team form up and move in on the reinforcements and take out multiple hostiles and call in a strike on an enemy tank, allowing the team to safely withdraw.
