Wednesday's extended Cleveland weather forecast: Cooler near the lake, spring-like inland in NE Ohio

Cleveland weather forecast for Wednesday, March 12, 2025. It's that time of year. Anytime we have a light wind or a wind off the lake, temps are MUCH cooler near the lake and that will be on full display today and tomorrow. A mix of sun and clouds can be expected with temps that peak near 60 inland, but will hold in the 40s near the lakeshore including downtown Cleveland. Expect a similar setup tomorrow except temps will push the low to mid 60s south. We ALL warm up on Friday as a strong storm system gets going in the central Plains. A south wind will develop and bring mid-70 degree air all the way to the lakeshore -- it should feel like summertime on Friday with sunshine giving way to high clouds. Severe weather will break out in the central Plains Friday afternoon and evening. We'll likely inherit the leftovers of this round of storms sometime early Saturday. We would then likely clear out after these move through, with temps pushing back into the 70s if we get some sunshine. Rain and storms will then move back in late Saturday into Saturday night with rain and rumbles lingering on Sunday. Colder air then moves back in for St. Patrick's Day, but we're still expecting dry conditions with lots of sunshine. The other issue this weekend will be the WIND. This system will be a big wind-maker with gusts over 40 mph (maybe higher) possible Saturday and Sunday. The strongest gusts would occur with any more organized storms or downpours. We turn cooler on St. Patrick's Day as we mentioned, but it doesn't last long with temps warming right back up into the 60s to near 70 out ahead of another strong storm system next week!
