I know all the no sprint kills are getting boring, but don't worry I'm almost finished with this shit. There's like 5 or 6 more uploads and then I'm probably done with no sprint in DS3, DS2, and BB. Might try to do sth in DS1 or DeS later, but that won't be for a while. This fight was an interesting one. I legit had no idea what the hell to do for the first 30 minutes of fighting the boss, then I figured out a little bit of a strategy that got me to phase 2 a few times. Vic Wraith was online on Discord later and fortunately had some of his old clips from when he tried this, and I took some notes off of it. By the next hour I was getting to phase 2 consistently, but phase 2 still needed some work. In the end, I probably spent about 5-6 hours on this fight, and got it done. There's minimal RNG attached to this fight, and I'm positive that you can do this on NG+7, or maybe on NG with some minor restrictions. So the big thing for phase 1 is him doing swings with his big sword, since it's slow and allows for much more damage than punishing his swings with the smaller sword. While most of the time you can get away with punishing his quick slashes with the tiny sword, sometimes he can follow up with some shit that'll fuck you up. The rapier ends up being much better for this fight and lets you take an opening off of just about everything. I imagine the mace's attack speed would be a handicap in a way, since you probably can't get away with punishing as much stuff. Maybe it'd better on some openings, but a worse pick overall. Phase 2 is just simply circling around him, and hoping he goes through with his combos since it lets you poke him some more. Maybe not entirely RNG, but there's a pretty wonky hitbox on one of his swings that makes phase 2 annoying. You can be directly behind him and the start of this one overhead-ish swing will hit you because fuck you hitboxes are great. Overall, he's pretty consistent and a fun challenge.
