Diabetic patients produce more urine - called "Polyuria" , They produce more urine at night called" Nocturia" & while all this happens and they continue to adjust to urinary issues till emergencies happen or they meet us as urologists with recurrent urinary tract infections .Urinary Bladder undergoes a series of silent and significant changes of increased activity thus leading to urgency and frequency until in long standing diabetes there is gradual slowing of bladder reflexes - sensations and progressive loss of urinary bladder contractions leading to high residual urine in the bladder with recurrent UTI, failure to empty the bladder be it male or female. Diabetes is a progressive systemic phenomenon leading to various end organ damage of kidneys and eyes for instance named Diabetid retinopathy, Diabetic Nephropathy ... The entity of end stage urinary bladder issues in Diabetics of long standing and poor control is about weak bladders and unable to empty urine ...
