Join Us for a live conversation with Srishti Sardana as we explore equitable access to mental health services for refugees worldwide. UNHCR reports that 82.4 million people worldwide were forcibly displaced at the end of 2020 as a result of persecution, conflict, violence, human rights violations or events seriously disturbing public order. A considerable number of displaced people need mental and psychosocial support (MHPSS). The size of the population in need of MHPSS services far exceeds the skills base and material resources available to provide equitable interventions at a global level (Silove, 2021). With direct experience working with displaced people and on MHPSS programs in LMICs, Srishti will bring first hand knowledge to this conversation on the specific levers to pull to increase equitable access to MHPSS for displaced people.
