MY NORDSCHLEIFE LAP - Living out a dream! Can I beat 10 minutes BTG?

Germany is a long way from Australia and I never thought I'd ever get a chance to drive on the Green Hell. But you've got to follow your dreams and make things happen. Life is to short to wonder what if.. When my partner and I started making plans for a trip to Europe, this was always going to be on the MUST DO list. Thanks to RSR Nurburgring, I was able to live out a boyhood dream. Being a BMW fan from a long way back and a Schnitzer fan on top of that, RSR had a couple in their stable and I was able to drive the latest BMW M2 with a Schnitzer upgrade. We only had one day at the track and weather was very sketchy, plus a whole heap of oil was dropped on the track day before so it looked like I may have had to take a slightly less powerful car with 4 wheel drive. But seeing as I had this car on my computer screen saver for a year, I was going to wait until the conditions got better so I could drive my choice of car. The wait paid of and just after 12pm we hit the track! Like everyone says, pictures and videos do not do this place justice! It's equal parts beautiful and terrifying. I did two laps with my coach, Sebastian Kornely, a professional racing driver that races DTM Trophy with Audi R8 LMS GT4 and has tested in F1. He also told me he was Max Verstappens team mate in a junior category so I knew I was in good hands. After my two laps with Seb, my partner jumped into the car and let's just say.. she was more happy to be out of the car than in it.. and after 4 exhilarating laps, it was over. I was happy that many hours on the sim helped me acheive my goal of sub 10 minutes bridge to gantry and I'm told that anything under 9 minutes for a first timer in a car that is uncommon and on a second only lap.. my performance was outstanding. I'll take that! I'm also just happy I didn't make any infamous N-Ring crash compilations! Thank you to everyone at RSR for being patient and accomodating. I'd highly recommend them if you are looking at driving around the track! I hope to return one day.. I hear a Porsche calling my name..
