360 Coverage of New Zealand National Service at Tel Beer Sheva

On 31 October 2017, New Zealand marked its involvement in the Battle of Beersheba with a service at the UNESCO World Heritage site, Tel Beer Sheva. The Tel, known as Tel el Saba 100 years ago, was the New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade’s objective during the Battle of Beersheba. After six hours of fighting, the New Zealanders took the Tel and the Australian Light Horse made their now famous charge on Beersheba shortly afterwards. The Official Party included Her Excellency The Right Honourable Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand, His Excellency Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minster of the State of Israel and The Honourable Mr Malcolm Turnbull, Prime Minister of Australia. Major General Peter Kelly, Chief of Army, represented the Chief of Defence Force. The 30-member New Zealand Defence Force contingent, including the Queen Alexandra’s Mounted Rifles Guidon Party, performed a heart-felt haka to all those who fought in the battle at the conclusion of the service. #Beersheba100 @WW100NZ @NZinTurkey Also watch in standard video here:    • New Zealand National Service at Tel Beer S...
