The DVSA Changed Driving Tests... Was It Worth It?

The DVSA have officially changed the UK driving test — and in this video, I break down exactly what’s changing, why it’s happening, and what it means for your driving test in 2025 and beyond. Back in April 2025, the DVSA began trialling a new driving test format at 20 test centres across Great Britain. Now the trial has finished, these changes are being rolled out permanently from 24 November 2025. In this video, I explain the 3 big changes: 🚗 Normal stops reduced from 4 to 3 🚨 Emergency stop now only 1 in 7 tests instead of 1 in 3 🛰️ Independent driving extended — with more sat nav and road-sign flexibility I break down: • What each change actually means • How it affects your real driving test • Whether it will make the test easier or harder • How instructors and examiners feel about it • And most importantly… does it really matter for learners? This video is for anyone preparing for their driving test, anyone confused about the new DVSA updates, and any learner driver who wants to know how these changes affect their chances of passing. If you’ve got questions about the new UK driving test format, drop them in the comments — I’ll be replying to as many as I can.
