Local fire departments will get thousands in federal funding

WASHINGTON -- The Coxsackie and Middleburg fire departments are about to get a big boost from thousands of dollars in federal funding. The money is all part of the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters grant program. Coxsackie will get nearly $50,000 for a new compressor system. Middleburg will use nearly $75,000 for new gear and equipment like thermal imaging cameras.
