A brigade of Chinese marines recently conducted float-crossing firing practice off the coast of western part of south China's Guangdong Province, aiming to test the tactical and technical performance of its amphibious armored vehicles under severe sea condition so as to further enhance the troops' fighting capability. As a key and difficult project in amphibious operation training, cross-sea firing practice in amphibious armored vehicles involves great safety risk but is of great practical significance in real battle. Since waves at sea may distract soldiers' attention and cause greater difficulty in taking aim, it requires close coordination between crew members to precisely locate target and shoot swiftly. "Our practice today mainly focuses on coordination between all crew members. The driver has to control accelerator with great skills so that shooter can swiftly and precisely hit the target," said Dang Jiansong, driver of amphibious armored infantry fighting vehicle. The littoral combat training will last for one month, including over 30 items, such as unarmed swimming, armed swimming, driving vehicle on water, float-crossing for loading and unloading practice, firing practice, underwater blasting, high-intensity integrated drilling and live amphibious landing practice. http://www.cctvplus.com/news/20170821...
